INGREDIENTS
1 egg
125ml (1/2 cup) unbleached all-purpose flour
1ml (1/4 teaspoon) salt
60ml (1/4 cup) unsalted, softened butter
125ml (1/2 cup) sugar
5ml (1 teaspoon) vanilla extract
Preparation and cooking:
● Place the grill at the centre of the oven and preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F)
● Cover the baking tray with parchment paper.
● In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Set aside
● In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Add egg and vanilla extract to it. Whisk until the mixture is homogeneous. Then, on low speed, add the dry ingredients.
● Using a pastry bag fitted with a plain nozzle (about 5 mm [¼ inch] in diameter), form a cylinder of dough (4 cm [1 ½ inch]) long) on the baking sheet. Space them on the tray (around 2.5 cm [1 inch]).
● Bake for 4 to 6 minutes or until the edge of the cookie becomes golden brown. Remove from the plate and let cool.
● Place the cookie in an airtight container.
