Another component of Korean culture is gaining more and more fans: Korean food! Many Korean restaurants are opening all over the world, with great success.
If you want to discover Korean specialities directly at the source, I recommend you going to the country's culinary capital, Jeonju. Let's see what you can eat and visit in this article.
Bibimbap; one of Jeonju’s specialities
Bibimbap is one of the most popular Korean dishes and my favourite Korean food. It is a colourful dish made of rice, stir-fried vegetables, and meat.
And Bibimbap is definitely one of Jeonju's delicacies, especially the Dolsot Bibimbap.
The typical dish differs from Dolsot Bibimbap as the latest is served in a hot stone bowl. By the way, be careful not to burn yourself. This unique bowl keeps the dish hotter and makes the rice crispier. A real treat!
To eat it, you must mix the rice with all the vegetables, the meat and the slightly spicy red sauce called Gochujang. By the way, "Bibimbap" literally means "mixing rice".
Hanok Maeul, Jeonju traditional village
In addition to sampling the local cuisine, there are many other things to do in Jeonju. One of the places to be noticed is the traditional Hanok Maeul area, where you will find beautiful traditional Korean wooden houses and lots of lovely little restaurants and cafes. Don't hesitate to rent a nice Hanbok (traditional Korean dress) for your walk!
Wansan Park
If you go to Jeonju in spring, you should go to Wansan Park in the southwest of the city. There you will find a natural tide of flowers of all colours. Truly beautiful!
Jaman Mural Village
South Korea has started several programmes to revitalise poor neighbourhoods throughout the country. To do this, it has invited artists to paint the walls of these neighbourhoods to improve their attractiveness, and Jaman is one of them. Genuine street art awaits you there, so be sure to visit.

South Korea is a hot destination in Asia. The "Korean Wave", also known as Hallyu, is the name given to the cultural wave that has taken over the world. Korean pop culture is now on the top music charts, and almost everyone has started watching Korean dramas.
Who hasn't watched Squid Game, for example?
